Canada Day Weekend and High Park Rebuild

At Jodi's cottage, Reid played with his cousins and squealed with delight.
He got to ride on their 4 Wheeler and practiced using a whistle.
So did Laila. She ate so much one day that she projectile vomited as she was kissing everyone good night.
 Practicing his whistling some more.
Practicing his whistling again with Adam behind him.
Here's Adam taking him for a ride. We had a great weekend in Ottawa. Finished off by Reid seeing the Parliament Hill fireworks with Grandma and Grandpa. He got to stay up until 11 pm! Too bad I don't have any photos of that to share.
This is the kids at High Park Saturday. Here are Laila and Reid in the driver's seat of an ambulance. An arsonist burned down the huge castle play structure in High Park. Volunteers from Mike Holmes group were there rebuilding it this weekend. There were fire trucks, an ambulance, a bouncy castle and Mike Holmes! Mike even smiled at me! And Mike's daughter came over to me and told me how cute Laila was. Laila kept running into the fenced off building zone.
The paramedic was really nice, he said one kid spent an hour in the back of the ambulance. (Laila thinks he's a jerk.)
Reid was afraid of the stretcher and at first was afraid of the paramedic, but later he whispered in my ear that he wanted to go back.
While sitting in the back of the fire truck Laila somehow picked up an extremely heavy fire fighting helmet and pulled off the outer trim on the beak of the hat. Good times! Sorry about that Mr. Fire Fighter.
