This year Reid learned how to:
- walk forward, backward and sideways, run, jump and twirl
- spin until he gets dizzy
- turn the doorknobs and open the doors
- talk, although with a slight Japanese accent (Thank you sounds like "sank you" Reid sounds like "Weid")
- share his toys, kind of...
- identify his body parts
- sleep in a big boy bed
- not pull the cat's tail or Daisy's hair
- count to ten
- name some colours
- ride on a four wheeler with grandpa
- get a rise out of his mommy and daddy and say sorry
- ask for things politely
- ask for "just one" vitamin, with his index finger beside his nose and his head tilted to the side
- share his mommy with a new baby, kind of...
- come upstairs and wake daddy up by saying, "Wake up daddy, come downstairs, breakfast. Mommy sleeping." (he can't whisper yet, so he wakes me up too!)
- get us playing with him. He grabs our hand and says, "Come on mommy, have fun!"
He called it a "happy birsday to you cake"
Guests were leaving and climbed up onto the table and started eating a stray piece of cake,"mmm delicious" he said.
"sank you presents."
What a great cousin Danelle is! Reid had a blast playing with her all weekend, especially when she put a box over her head and he chased her around the house laughing, "my box!" Laila loves her too!
He had soooo much fun this morning that he was sound asleep upon his second helping of cake.
Happy Birthday Reid! The physical skills that he has now are light years away from those of last year. The improvement of verbal skill is even more staggering. I now know what Reid is saying 95% of the time. It is amazing to me that he can tell me what he wants and what he needs now. I love you so much my little boy.
