Reid was forced to build Thomas' Branch Line in the kitchen.
The blue faux finish was out of date and the wallpaper border made the ceilings feel lower.
This took us two weekends of mind bending hardwork, but it's done and I think it looks great. We had to watch a youtube video to help us understand how to cut the mouldings accurately. The handyman said the detail is down and on inside corner cuts the long point is your bottom. On the outside cuts the long point is your top. This explanation clicked for me. I kept repeating the simple rule and we didn't mess up a single cut because of it. We even had an exact amount of mouldings. No leftovers and no second trip to the store. By doing the work ourselves I estimate that we saved at least $3,000.
